Animation Movies – Where To?

If we look at the recent release, there is no great film based on 2D animation. Is 2D animation worn out, or just not commercial enough? While these classic animations are always a pleasure to see, we must recognize that modern animation is more attractive. They are more real, and people seem to like it. If we look at the box office, we can see two animated films in the top 10 (Shrek 2 and Finding Nemo), with revenues of $ 1.7 billion. That’s incredible. And both movies CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) was used.

So why studies using CGI, and why we love him so much? I am inclined to say that from the standpoint of film lovers is the story that makes the film so appealing, because when I see a movie like Shrek, with real actors, scenes and other real things. But the story is everywhere. From the point of view of the designers, it is cheaper. Because, with special effects today, anything is possible with real actors, and we can not deny. But like I said, it’s cheaper than physical methods, such as construction of the miniature developed for effects shots or hiring extras for crowd scenes lot, and because it allows imaging not possible with any other method. You can also allow a single artist to produce content without the use of actors or other project partners.

The first study to launch a fully computer generated film from Pixar Toy Story went with her. The film was a huge success at the box office, generating $ 360 000 000. Pixar is “responsible” with other animated hit movies such as Finding Nemo, A Bug or The Incredibles. The other competitor for Pixar DreamWorks SKG, with Shrek, Shrek 2 (which is the animation that generates the most revenue for an animated film, more than $ 880 million), Antz and Chicken Run.
